Reynolds Scott-Childress (History) received a Lord Baltimore Fellowship to support research in the archives of the Maryland Historical Society. The subject of his work is a cultural history of entertainment around the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

At the State University of New York Council for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD) conference in July, Rachel Reuben (Public Affairs) and Jeff Lesperance (Design Services) accepted awards on behalf of their departments. Reuben accepted a best of category award for the college’s Facebook page in the electronic communications and interactive media – social networking category. Lesperance accepted judges’ citations for the “SOAR Book: 2008 Student Orientation and Registration Booklet” in the search publications category and the “Jim Breuer Live” poster in the poster category. He also accepted best of category awards for the Fine and Performing Arts Event Calendar in the multi-page publications category and the Welcome Center kiosk panels in the specialty pieces category.
