Rimer Cardillo (Printmaking) has selected works in exhibition at Chace-Randall Gallery in Andes, N.Y. “On Paper: Nature Line and Layer” is a series of new mixed media pieces combining woodcuts and digital photography Cardillo worked on with Marie Vickerilla. Anne Galperin (Art) presented a paper, “Maternal Divide: Non-human Actors as Mediators of Space Between Mothers and Young Children,” at “Networks of Design,” a Design History Society conference at the University of Falmouth, Cornwall, England, on Sept. 6.
Stephen Kitsakos (Theatre Arts) received a commission from “The Woodstock Cycle,” a performing arts-based program that commissions composers to create theatrical works that illuminate contemporary spiritual themes. His piece, “Songs For New Journeys,” is a world premiere and will feature student soprano Lourdesa Hunt ’08 (Music); tenor Owen Smith ’04 (Theatre Arts); clarinetist Andrew Monatruli ’06 (Music); violist Devon Knauth (Music); and oboist Nancy Chusid and pianist Richard Mogavero from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. The song cycle, which will be included with new works by composers Peter Rogen and Diane Nicoletti, is scheduled to be performed at 7 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 4 p.m. on Oct. 5 at St. Gregory’s Church in Woodstock.
