The School of Business will recognize L. David Rooney, vice president of Student Affairs, and Shelly Wright, chief of staff, for their contributions to the School of Business by inducting them as honorary members into the New Paltz Chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society in business, management and administration. The induction ceremony will take place during the School of Business Annual Award Ceremony at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7, in the Coykendall Science Building Auditorium.
Dean Daniel Jelski (Science and Engineering) has been appointed and will serve a three-year term as a director on the board of the Hudson Valley Technology Development Center Inc. The Fishkill-based center, is a business and technology resource center.

Kathleen Dowley (Political Science) brought her Model United Nations class (16 students) to the Harvard National Model United Nations Conference in Boston, February 11-14. Students from New Paltz represented Venezuela in a variety of U.N. committees, debating a range of contemporary issues ranging from the prevention of nuclear terrorism to combating violence against women. More than 200 schools, from all over the world, participated in the 4 day event.

Professor David M. Clark (Mathematics) has been awarded a $27,498 grant by the Educational Advancement Foundation for his project titled “Journal of Inquiry-Based Learning in Mathematics & EAF Geometry Project.”
