For eight weeks each summer, students and faculty are given an opportunity for educational collaboration through the Summer Undergraduate Research
Experience (SURE) Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities program. Funding is now available to support research projects for summer 2012.
During the course of the award period, faculty mentors will direct and provide guidance to participating students as they work on a particular aspect of the faculty’s research program. SURE students meet regularly with their faculty mentors to discuss the progress and problems that arise during the course of the research process. Early in the subsequent fall semester, all SURE students will be required to present the results of their work.
Proposals are due Wednesday, March 28 and should be sent to the director of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Program at firstname.lastname@example.org. Award announcements will be made on or about April 20, 2012. For more information and to download required forms, go to http://www.newpaltz.edu/research/usr_sure.html.
