Dr. E. Jerry Persaud (Communication and Media) received the Harry Shaw Award in Recognition of Outstanding Scholarly Contributions in Popular Culture Research at the National Popular Culture Association meeting in Boston, MA. The 42nd annual national conference of the Popular Culture/American Culture Associations met from April 11-14, 2012. The Award was given by the African American Culture Area of the PCA and is listed in the Conference Program.
Professor Anita Gonzalez (Theatre Arts) was accepted to participate in a 2012 Munson Institute/National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar “The American Maritime People” in Mystic Seaport, Conn.
