Five members of the academic, professional, and classified staff have been honored with the 2012 Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence and were recognized at the Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement Ceremonies.
Cecilia Donato, secretary in the Department of Elementary Education, received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service; Gwen Havranek, director of business operations for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LA & S), and Linda Smith, senior instructional technologist in the Department of Academic Computing, received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service; Susan Kraat, associate librarian and coordinator of instructional service in the Sojourner Truth Library, received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship; and Tom Meyer, associate professor in the Department of Secondary Education, received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service.
“These awards underscore SUNY’s appreciation of faculty and staff who serve our campuses and students with absolute excellence,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “Cecilia Donato, Gwen Havranek, Linda Smith, Susan Kraat, and Tom Meyer have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and service to New Paltz and are highly deserving of this distinction.”
