The SUNY New Paltz chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), which took home a bronze medal at the International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans this year, won more awards at the New Paltz Student Club and Leadership Awards reception held on campus.
The AMA received three awards, including the Best Large-Scale Event of the Year, Outstanding Promotional Award, and the Outstanding Recruitment Award. The awards recognize the AMA’s success in organizing the 16th Annual Business Day Conference, promoting the chapter, and recruiting and retaining members. The board’s commitment to community service was also recognized with a nomination for the Outstanding Community Service Award.
The AMA’s executive board worked under the leadership of Fiona Lee ’12, president, and Professor Ted Clark, faculty advisor. The board consisted of Eddie Monroy ’12, Derya Eren ’12g, Mariuxi Izquierdo ’08, ’12g, Michael Smith ’12, Kristin Wood ’12, Ashley Barraud ’12, Joe Lahita’12, Katie Kocijanski ’12 and Alexandra Sanky ’12.
“The awards at the college level are just as rewarding as the ones received at the international level. The New Paltz awards provide recognition for the AMA’s student development activities on our home campus,” said Clark.
