Augie helps spread holiday cheer

In keeping with the generous spirit of the holiday season, we invite you to consider participating in two important programs.

The Purchasing Department will be accepting new and unwrapped toys that will be donated to Toys for Tots, a foundation run by the U.S. Marine Corps that collects and distributes toys for less fortunate children every December. Toys may range from infant to teenage years and can be dropped off at the Purchasing Department (Haggerty 307) through Dec.16, at which time the toys will be taken to the Marines at Stewart Airport.

Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE), a National Honor Society dedicated to the promotion of high academic standards, is helping another organization for the holiday season: the Agricultural Business Child Development program (ABCD).  This program provides early childhood education and social services to farming and other eligible families across New York State.  To help these families during the holidays, XAE has created The Giving Tree. You are invited to stop by Haggerty 401 and select an ornament and donate the item listed (new or unused).  The Giving Tree is up now and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) will be collecting donations through Dec. 19.
