Professor Tom Meyer (Secondary Education) has received a $1,000 grant from Ulster County Community Foundation for his project titled, “HVWP Young Writers’ Program.”

Professor Emeritus Gerald Sorin has won the 2012 National Jewish Book Award (NJBA) for Biography for his book “Howard Fast: Life and Literature in the Left Lane” (Indiana University Press, 2012). An award ceremony will be held at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan on March 14 at 8 p.m. Sorin will discuss his book at two events on campus: in the Honors Center on Feb. 21 at 5 p.m., and at the Elting Memorial Library on March 12 at 7 p.m. Sorin was awarded his first NJBA in 2002 for his biography, “Irving Howe: A Life of Passionate Dissent” (New York University Press, 2002).
