Spring is here, and the campus Farmers’ Market has returned to its outdoor location on the Excelsior Concourse in front of the Lecture Center. Fresh produce, organic breads and dairy products, vegan baked goods, and other locally grown and produced foods are available. There has also been some special programming this season, including live music, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops.
The market was conceived of in 2009 by the College’s Environmental Task Force and Students for Sustainable Agriculture, with input from local farmers including Dan Gunther of Brook Farm. Sponsored by Campus Auxiliary Services, the market is held every Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Learn more on the SUNY New Paltz Farmers’ Market Facebook page.
