State of the College Address, Aug. 23, 9:30 a.m.

President Christian will present his State of the College Address at an all-employee event in LC 100. Light refreshments will be served from 8:45-9:25 a.m.

3D Printing Lecture with Dr. Hod Lipson, Sept. 11, 5 p.m. (reception at 4:30 p.m.)

Dr. Hod Lipson, professor of engineering at Cornell and director of the Creative Machines Lab, is the co-author of Fabricated: The New World of 3D Printing.  This event is sponsored by the Hudson Valley Center for Advanced Manufacturing at New Paltz and the Schools of Science and Engineering and Fine and Performing Arts. In CSB Auditorium.

7th Annual Dennis O’Keefe Memorial Lecture, Sept. 19, 5 p.m.

James H. Ottaway, Jr. will present the 7th Annual Dennis O’Keefe Memorial Lecture on “From Editing Newspapers to Editing Books” in the Coykendall Auditorium. Lecture will be followed by a reception. Sponsored by Friends of the Sojourner Truth Library. Free and open to the public.

Distinguished Speaker Series presents Robert Thurman, Nov. 4, 7:30 p.m.

Robert Thurman is co-founder and president of the Tibet House in New York City. He is a professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies in the Department of Religion at Columbia University and also serves as president of the American Institute of Buddhist Studies. In LC 100.
