New Paltz’s 27th Annual Fall Freshman Convocation will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 23, in the Athletic & Wellness Center. Faculty and staff are invited to attend and celebrate the start of the 2013-14 academic year. The ceremony will be followed by a picnic-style luncheon.
Professor Jack Wade (Theatre Arts), a 2013 recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, will provide the Convocation address. Professor Hon Ho (Biology) will serve as Grand Marshal and Macebearer.
Reservations are required in order to accommodate participant seating and food for the picnic. Please register before Aug. 16 at my.newpaltz.edu (click on the Faculty/Staff Services tab; go to the Employee Resources; and click on Register for Fall Convocation).
If you are professional faculty planning to march in the formal academic procession, you may follow the steps above to register. Line-up will be in the Athletic and Wellness Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the procession will begin promptly at noon.
