Professor Amy Papaelias (Art) participated in One Week | One Tool Institute for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and hosted by the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. An international team of twelve scholars, librarians, developers, and students, the group was charged with conceiving, designing, and implementing the tool over 5 days of intensive, collaborative work. Papaelias was primarily responsible for the graphic identity of Serendip-o-matic, a “serendipity engine” that takes in text and extracts key terms. Click here to use Serendip-o-matic.
