Oxford University Press has published “The Oxford Handbook of New York State Government,” edited by Gerald Benjamin, director of the Center for Research, Regional Engagement and Outreach (CRREO) and distinguished professor of political science. UPD launches new Facebook Page and new telephone tip line

The University Police Department (UPD) has launched a new Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/newpaltzuniversitypolice. The 2012-13 academic year is off to an exciting start, with 1,850 new first-year and transfer students and approximately 1,200 graduate students joining the campus community. Students study Esopus Creek watershed

The 2012 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program is underway this summer. Funded by the National Science Foundation, REU sponsors 12 students from New Paltz and nine other highly reputable campuses to participate in a challenging eight-week research project. This is a unique opportunity for students to study a comprehensive Watershed Characterization approach at SUNY New Paltz in collaboration with the New York State Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Center for International Programs and School of Business host summer certificate program

A new, three-week summer program run by International Programs and the School of Business has brought more than 100 students to campus from Latin America. The program consists of seminars in marketing, finance, project management, and strategic thinking with faculty from the School of Business, coupled with English for business purposes classes with faculty from the Haggerty English Language Program. New dean of Sojourner Truth Library appointed

W. Mark Colvson, associate director of the James A. Cannavino Library at Marist College, has been named as the new dean of New Paltz’s Sojourner Truth Library.
