Campus to celebrate Earth Day on April 22 The college will participate in Sustain 2009, a statewide Earth Day celebration and series of informational talks, on Wednesday, April 22. The campus will host two presentations and take part in a live Webcast. All events will be held in Lecture Center room 100. Brian Pine, director of Facilities Operations, will start off the day’s events at 10:30 a.m. by giving an overview of the campus’s greening efforts and future plans for recycling. School of Business honor society to induct honorary members from campus community The School of Business will induct L. David Eaton, vice president of enrollment management, and Bernadette Morris, registrar, into the New Paltz chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society in business, management and administration. Award-winning animator to visit campus on April 21 Animator Bill Plympton will be on the New Paltz campus at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, in the Lecture Center room 102. Plympton will present a selection of his work for the “Plymptoons” college tour and participate in a question-and-answer period. The tour is presented by the Hudson Valley Programmers Group and also includes visits to Marist and Bard colleges. Jonathan Alter to discuss American presidency at April 29 Distinguished Speaker Series Award-winning columnist, television analyst and author Jonathan Alter will visit the campus at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, as the second guest of the college’s Distinguished Speaker Series. In a talk titled “The American Presidency in War and Peace,” Alter will discuss the first 100 days of President Barack Obama’s administration.
