Call for Classified Staff Presidential Award nominations Nominations for the 2009 Classified Staff Presidential Awards are being accepted until April 24. Now in its third year, the awards program recognizes exemplary service to the college by employees represented by CSEA (Civil Service Employee Union), PEF (Public Employees Federation) and ALES (Agency Law Enforcement Services). Jonathan Alter to discuss American presidency at April 29 Distinguished Speaker Series Award-winning columnist, television analyst and author Jonathan Alter will visit the campus at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, as the second guest of the college’s Distinguished Speaker Series. Tickets are available online and at the Box Office in Parker Theatre. Communication and Media Day events scheduled for April 20 The Communication and Media Society will present a day of free events for students, faculty and staff on Monday, April 20. This year, Media Day is divided into three sections of interactive programs, for students in particular, designed to promote opportunities in the communication fields. Campus to host Sara’s Walk for Epilepsy on May 2 Volunteers are being sought to participate in Sara’s Fourth Annual Walk for Epilepsy and Sara’s 5K Sprint for Epilepsy that takes place at the college from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2. The walk and race will raise money and awareness for those whose lives have been touched by epilepsy in the Hudson Valley.
