The Research Foundation (RF) for SUNY has announced that its policies and procedures for the research grant cycle will be made available on a public website. The new site will feature a key word search in order to help users quickly find documents. Alumnus gift supports Middle East lecture

Howard Goldblatt ’73 (Political Science) has made a substantial multi-year gift pledge to the Dean’s Discretionary Fund of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LA&S). The gift will be used to help sponsor a lecture on campus next spring by former Ambassador Dennis Ross, a leading expert on the Middle East, which Goldblatt was instrumental in helping to arrange. In addition, his gift will support other LA&S speakers over the next five years. Students engage children with hands-on science activities at Family Mole Night

The Chemistry Department hosted a “Family Mole Night” in celebration of National Chemistry Week, an annual event sponsored by the American Chemical Society. It was held on Friday, Oct. 26, in the Coykendall Science Building. “Family Mole Night” included hands-on science activities and demonstrations that introduce children to fun and playful ways of learning about science. Activities ranged from “Nanoparticles in your sunscreen,” in which participants experimented with ultraviolet beads, to “Dementor’s Kiss Ice Cream,” a tasty introduction to liquid nitrogen.
